Well sure, if I *wanted* to run a whorehouse . . .

I’m doing research on Nevada corporation law, and I’m looking up treatises and practice guides, and although I’m finding lots of stuff for pretty much every other state, not many people have written much about the laws of Nevada. This makes me wonder about this wisdom of ever going there. And interestingly, when I typed "Nevada legal guide" into google, it pulled up a lot of stuff about brothels.

It is funny how when I think of Nevada I don't think of Vegas or Brothels - what I think of is desert.

People still live in Nevada?

Hmm interesting, I will have to agree with Jef and say that i didn't think that anyone lived there anymore either lol.

Wouldn't it be funny if you named your whorehouse Chicken Brothel?

That would be funny. And apparently, I could find plenty of help online for all my legal questions.

Speaking of no one living there anymore, has anyone ever met someone that lived there? I've never met anyone who came from there, much less someone who STILL lives there. Interesting. Then again, I have also never met anyone from Idaho.

I’ve met someone from Nevada! I was in Vegas for a trade show with my old company and we hired spokesmodels to work our booth. I became friendly with one of the girls – she was 26 and had been living there for several years. She normally worked as a chorus person in the “Treasure Island” show but took days off to do better-paying spokesmodel gigs. She plans on settling down there – she and her boyfriend had just bought a house. She said the small population of people actually living in Vegas is essentially made up of casino-folks – entertainers, wait staff, hotel staff – and prostitutes.

Outside of Las Vegas, I would guess that there is, indeed, no habitation of Nevada.

Chicken Brothel...

Wonder if that is a cure for the common cold?

Kim--Interesting. Very interesting. And kind of sad. The company I used to work for sent people there twice a year for a big trade show (MAGIC, Int'l)(to my very great disappointment, it had nothing to do with magic). But I didn't think about people actually living there. Except for the casino people, who don't seem like the commuter types.
Do you think showgirls get good pension plans? I mean, what do you do when you're too old to do that anymore?

Ben-thank you for making that comment. I am ashamed of myself for not spotting the opportunity to make such a joke.

I knew a guy in college who had grown up outside of Vegas in Henderson, Nevada. He doesn't live there any more (hasn't since we started college and now lives in Cali), but his mom still does. So yes there are people that live there! :)

I know one person from Idaho. He said he laughed a little too hard at Napoleon Dynamite because that is pretty much what it's like there.
