It's better than even money

Anyone want to figure the odds on this one? It's 9:31 am. So far today I've had a dr. pepper, four cups of coffee, and a doughnut. Who wants to take bets on how long I've got before I crash?

Status update:
My heart is beating so fast right now.
I am reasonably alert.

My one cup of hot tea isn't doing it for me.

I'm not alert at all.

yay! The impatient chicken is back on her blog!

No more free friday coffee-chocolate from the firm. :( I wonder if Starbucks would make some for me.

I just finished my third glass of iced tea. No coffee for me today. ;) Probably have a soda with lunch and then water the rest of the day!

I'm feeling a little droopy now, but my heart rate is just now approaching normal, so I don't want to go near the caffeine.

Kim! I can't believe it! I was so appalled when I read your blog. What the hell? I was going to post something to that effect, but I couldn't figure out how. There's certainly nothing stopping you from printing that article now (unless of course you signed some sort of employment agreement). The nerve of some people!

Melissa: good for you. I have been drinking way too much coffee lately.

AM: at least it's Friday. You're not expected to be all that alert.

We have things to do tonight, and you need not to have crashed. Lay. Off. The. Caffeine.

Kim: I second JLR. What the hell?!?!

status update:
So far today I've made 5 or 6 trips to the bathroom (but 2 were an attempt to rearrange the mess I call my hair) and have had about 30 ounces of water (so I foresee more bathroom trips in the future). I feel a little nauseated. Drinking more water.

status update: I have plateau'd. I'm feealing pretty even keel. On a side note, I looked up "keel" because although I have heard and used the expression "even keel" my whole life, it occurred to me that I'd never seen a dictionary definition of it. Turns out it means (among other things) "even." So my whole life I've been saying "even even."

So I'm feeling pretty even even right now, not too tired, not too wired. I just might make it through the rest of the day.

i have not had one thing to drink today. i must be dehydrated. perhaps i should go get some water.

Jes--It's a bit late for that!

[AM: See what I did there?]

Dictionary correction:
Upon reflection, I did not think keel could possibly mean even. I think the dictionary I was using was confused by my request. Upon looking at a different online dictionary, it says nothing about keel=even. But I still planning on saying "even even" from now on.

On an even keel:

actually the correct reference for Even keel is because the Keel is the part of a sail boat that sticks down in the water and balences it out. So if you are sailing even Keel then you are not leaning over your boat is steady

did I mention I grew up sailing?

Way to go IC. I used that same line this weekend. At least once.

Holly: that makes MUCH more sense.
