Yes, actually, I am the Greatest Friend Ever

Today I'm going with jes to the Farmer's Market. It will be hot. Currently it is 85F with a heat index of 90F, and the high today should be about 98F. This means that I will be warmer than I care to be and, possibly, sweaty. But I'm going anyway. I will complain loudly the whole time, ensuring that everyone around me is as miserable as I am (I subscribe to the "taking everyone down with me" philosophy), but still, I'll be there. Oh, such fun we will have.

i'm glad that i checked your site. i now know what to expect, and promise to delicately place a rag in your mouth and muzzle over your head to prevent you from taking me down with you.

i'm glad you're going, even if you must face the sweaty weather. perhaps we can get ice cream while we are out!

Mmmmm...homemade peach ice cream for 50 cents.

Could life BE any better?

all this talk of ice cream, and all I've got is apple juice. Not really the same thing at all.

Update:

I did get ice cream. I did get vaguely sweaty (I know smell like outside). I also got $20 worth of fruit.

JLR said...

Yeah, that should be "now." I NOW smell like outside.

OK, I'm extremely jealous. I remember going to the Farmer's Market when I was a kiddo. My grandmother would take me. Actually, she didn't drive, so my aunt would take us.

Peach orchard? Peach ice cream??? It sounds heavenly.

Y'all are hanging out together, ON MY BIRTHDAY? Please don't even think about eating said peach ice cream on my birthday w/o me.

JLR said...

Oh, it's your birthday? Well, happy, happy birthday to you!

That made me laugh.

Funny.

I apologize again. Today isn't my birthday, but the 31st is, and it sounded like there was anticipatory ice cream planning for that day. Just had to give you a hard time. But I know that really, you were planning on celebrating it offsite all along.

I will go ahead and accept all b-day kudos today though, since my B-day falls on a Sunday this year and nobody will be blogging on that day. July 20th is now my blogging b-day this year.

JLR said...

I'm confused. So your birthday is July 31st? ("no there is, or no there isn't?") In any case, happy birthday, whenver it is.

AM: ok, that last post clarified it. Happy blog bday and happy early bday.

Jes: I wasn't all that whiny, was I? I thought I did pretty well.

Ben: Thanks, I'm glad that made you laugh. Some of my friends seem to think that I should feel guilty about my philosophy--especially when they are on the receiving end--but I don't. I am unapologetic.

"What was the question?"

"That's what (s)he said, but does (s)he know?"

Last comment, I promise! Do you have the Clue DVD? Didn't know if you knew you could do all three theatrical endings, or just let it just randomly pick one. When the movie was originally released, the movie had three different endings, but only one of them was shown per screening, so different audiences thought it ended different ways. But now we know, and knowing is half the battle.

JLR: no, not whiny at all. you held it all in very well.

AMSTAFF: unfortunately, there is no ice cream eating being planned for the 31st. unless of course amanda tells me where she went. and then, perhaps, i will eat ice cream. but even then, it will probably be by myself. i will be in amanda's neck of the woods that day for a reason completely unrelated to ice cream, so it sounded like a good plan to combine both events into one.

amanda sue, please tell me where you went. readers want to know.

the Promised Land Peach Orchard in right outside of town. 70 cents a pound if you pick em yerself.

they are closed on sundays! maybe i will go early and bestow fresh peaches on my guests as a gift!

You will have guests on the 31st, Amanda Sue. REMEMBER THAT

We alllllllllll want to go to the Promised Land, don't we? That'd be just peachy~
