4 days until the fair!!!

This year, in addition to the corny dog eating contest, the State Fair will also host a jalapeno eating contest (Sunday, Oct. 23--the last day of the fair), as well as a qualifying round for the 2005 Krystal Square off World Hamburger Eating Championship on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 1pm.

As if people need incentive to eat at the fair. I load the jalepenos on my nachos, but I'm not about to enter a competition and then have to walk around the fair for hours after that. That's just stupid. I've had Krystal burgers too. Don't think I could "stomach" too many of those either.

I am so excited about the fair. But then, you knew that already.

IC - are you a fan of the petting zoo cause i heard on the radio they got rid of it this year

Oh, no! No petting zoo? I love the petting zoo!

have you seen the fair background for avatars? I think you need to get one in honor of the fair.

So sad I'm stuck in NYC. Wonder how much it would cost to fly to Dallas so we can make our annual trip. Hmmm. too much, I'm sure. *sigh*

I don't like fairs... crowded... gut hurts afterwards... although the cheese curds are spectacular.

Have fun!

Cheese curds? I don't think I even want to know. The word curd alone makes me want to vomit.

I think I would dry heave if I had to eat a curd.

Yea, I heard about the petting zoo thing too. They're worried about a certain kind of bacteria that's lingering in petting zoos.

Bummer. I always like to see the emus. Hopefully we can still see the Budweiser Clydesdales.

So, everyone is forgetting about Elsie. No one would go and be "introduced" to Elsie with me last year. No one. This year is going to be different...

Are there any bets on how much fried-fair-food RR will eat on Friday – BEFORE noon (because you know that she’ll be the first one at Fair Park on opening day. She is a fair fanatic)? Because last year I was SHOCKED! How can someone so tiny eat so much fried ick? Maybe someone should make a documentary in the style of SUPERSIZE ME, but use fair food instead of Micky D’s. My guess is that you would be dead before Texas-OU weekend if you did that. Fried Oreos! Who thinks of that?! EWWWWW!!

It is a cruel, cruel irony that this year's fair theme is "Let Yourself Go". I mean, really?! Is that a joke?!

deals: I am always so very jealous during the fair when rr comes home frm work each day and gives me the run down on what she ate that day. And fried oreos aren't that bad; neither are fried twinkies. Fried ice cream is great. The fried candy bars we didn't care for, but that may just be because we were sick from all the other fried food.

CURDS? What kind of fair food is that? Unless you batter dip it and fry it. I love fried food.

Mmm. . . funnel cakes.

*GAG*

Fair food is gross (except for the occasional fried green tomato).

CURD rhymes with TURD. I don't eat things that rhyme with TURD.

Disclaimer: BIRD rhymes with TURD, but CHICKEN and TURKEY do not. And, no, I do NOT like NERDS. NERDS make my mouth hurt.

Curd rhymes with Turd that rhymes with Bird. Deals, you kill me.

I am fully prepared to eat my weight in Fletcher's Corny Dogs. Just watch me. With one line of mustard down the middle. I normally park at the entrance that is close to the petting zoo, and close to the Midway. Where you walk past all the spas. Hit the Corny Dog stand and then run over to see the dog show across the street. That or I park by the train on the side by the Main Stage and the cars. Creature of Habit.

Can't. Wait.

I planning on parking ON the Chevy Stage. Because I don't think I'll be able to park anywhere else this year. Too crowded...
